Looking aft
beneath the cockpit. The cockpit sole was damaged by the heat, but
much of what you see is in surprisingly good--if blackened--condition. |
|
Another view,
showing the hull, which has been substantially ground by the owner. |
|
The bilge beneath
the engine room. |
|
Looking forward
in the salon towards the forward bulkhead. The white, cleaner area
is where the dining table was stored at the time; it survived.
Most of the black is soot, but the headliner (lightweight fiberglass and
gelcoat) is badly damaged by the heat of the fire. |
|
Here's another
view looking forward. Just forward of the companionway, where I
am shooting from, you can see the most heavily damaged part of the
liner, where the mat is hanging down. My impression is that
although the liner could be salvaged, it makes more sense to remove it
and come up with an other solution. |
|
This is the
starboard side of the liner, showing the charring, checking, and other
damage. |
|
This is the port
side. |
|
The head--this is
mostly soot and water damage. |
|
A closer view of
the liner, opposite the head on the starboard side. What a
mess. The surface (gelcoat) is rough and crinkled; smoothing it
would be a big job. |
|
The hull outside
of the port pilot berth; the owner removed the wooden ceiling.
This is in fine shape. |
|
The after port
corner of the cabin trunk, above the galley. This is badly damaged
by heat and smoke. |
|
This is the
overhead on the port side, looking forward. What a mess! |
|
The port forward
bulkhead, showing the table location (right) and damaged Formica. |
|
The starboard
side, above the galley somewhere (I think). |
|
Looking into the
forward cabin; again, the damage is mostly confined to the liner, and
lots of soot. |
|
Another view of
the forward cabin.
